-who am i?-
Hello! My name is Matthew or Matt & I’ve been a computer geek for as long as I can remember. It started with gaming, playing Xbox as a kid was just a completely different experience for me. All of the unique games that existed on that platform (halo, Red-Dead, Minecraft, GTA, etc.) were so fun and engaging as a kid.
Gaming eventually led to building computers and not long after, computer programming. In Middle-school, I went to a couple of coding camps, where I was introduced to C/C++ & got some experience using UE4.
After graduating High School in 2019, it was a while until I began my education at Green River Community College because of COVID19 & the institution was still adapting to the pandemic at the time.
But, after getting enough credits in transferrable classes, I was able to apply to Washington State, leading me to where I am today.
-personal/career goals-
Currently I’m a Junior at Washington State University, pursuing my bachelor’s degree in computer science & engineering. In my spare time, I like to build & maintain my own computers. Mainly for gaming, but I’ve been wanting to get into video rendering. I’ve recently been troubleshooting a lot with overclocking and BIOS firmware to fine-tune computer performance.
Professionally, I’m focused on my own projects, school assignments, & micro-internships to expand my professional portfolio & increase my programming knowledge. Some of the projects I’m working on right now are C/C++ applications, web-design, graphic-design, & looking into video-rendering.
My end goal is to use my portfolio/resume to land a job in big-tech fields like AI, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, and Robotics to get work experience in those cutting-edge fields.
